What cup?

June is here! And the heat is driving me CRAZY. And to top it all off, Cougartown is done for the season.

Wyatt and I have been left to fend for ourselves, and will have to do so for the next 4 weeks! The hail storm in the Waco area called Jon's name and he will be there until July.

Wy and I went to watch Abby's soccer tournament in Spring last weekend and her team won the whole stinkin' thing. Wyatt's story begins here. We were on our way to grab a bite to eat, and having already been in the car for a long time that day, Wy was trying to find things to keep him...occupied. He has officially learned how to roll his window down. Having JUST exited 249 Wyatt decided that he no longer was in need of his sippy cup. I knew instantly what his little mind was thinking. Yup. I was right. He chunked his cup right out the window. Of course, it was the only cup that I brought for us that day, so I had to turn around to get it. This is another thing he will be paying for as a teenager.

Cara and I are going to a bachelorette party for our friend this weekend. But not before we stay the night in China Spring, so that Jon can show Cara around "the best place on Earth". I have never heard Jon plan so much EVER. I guess it's always exciting when they rope in another fan of the town!

Pray.

Sweet Tooth!

I don't know if it's just the fact that I have been trying to eat better and work out everyday or what; but what I once knew as a sweet tooth has now become a sweet...mandible? Ridiculous, I realize.

First of all, I've become obsessed with York Bites. Think of them as peppermint patties trapped in wonderful M&M-esque candies. Uh, yum. What is lovely about them is you can literally just grab a handful and be satisfied. I mean, you may want some like 30 minutes later, but it's better than the capability of eating an entire bag of virtually anything else in one sitting.
I'll "amen" that myself.

Mollie and I made margarita cupcakes the other day, and I have found the first dessert that I love. Oh, I meant that doesn't contain chocolate. We changed up the recipe quite a bit (added more tequila, etc.) and it is some zesty goodness. They are the perfect summer treat. Let's just put it this way: any event that I'm invited to requiring food, will receive these suckers.

Amy Beth sent me yet another link to some new hip trend that's caught on. It's called Hello Frosting and they specialize in edible decals. I believe they are at www.hellofrosting.com
It's really just fun to look at the photo gallery. I think these are grand because let's face it - it's summer - and we all have a list of wedding/bridal/baby/engagement showers to attend. Hello gift!

Wyatt gave himself a black eye the other day while at TaDa's house.
Poor kid. Mollie just says that he doesn't have his "sea legs" when he wakes up.
He was just frolicking around the living room when OUT OF NOWHERE...nothing came out and he tripped. Luckily, his face caught his fall. Unluckily, it was on the corner of the couch. I will try to get a pic of it, so later on in his life I can show him how tough he was as a kid.
I figured I'd let it ripen a little more, so it can look gnarlier and I could amp up the pity party from you guys.

Clearly, I'm a first-time mom.

Just Take 6 North. Then 6 South.

This is the first Monday in a long time, that I haven't had to think about ANYTHING. God bless summers.

To recap what we have been up to, we are going to have to go all the way back to Wednesday. So I hope you're prepared.

We drove to Waco on Wednesday afternoon, once I was done with my classes (praise the Lord!). That night, we went to an acoustic concert that showcased Cody Canada, Chris Knight, and Charlie Robison. It was good, but I'm pretty sure Chris Knight was falling asleep between songs. Whatever works.

Thursday, we went to Uncle Z's state semi-final playoff game. By the 5th inning, it became an intense baseball game. They were down 8-1 in the fourth. Came back 8-7 in the fifth, and ended up winning the game 10-13. We came back to the house to swim, which ended in Wyatt pooping IN and AROUND the pool. Uncle Eenie was totally grossed out.

On Friday morning we headed to Belton to catch the state baseball game at UMHB. Z's school, Reicher, beat Brook Hill 12-2 to win the state championship. Again, we were excited! Then, we get a call. A friend in Waco told us to check the local news channel. You can do the same by looking, here!

Did you see that baby? Oh you did?
That was Wyatt. Eating popcorn. On the news.

This kid is destined for stardom.

After the game, we quickly drove to Kingwood to attend Abby Noel's Pop Show that night. We even got into a little fender bender in the process, when some re-re ran into the back of us. From that point on it was basically just a relaxing weekend in the Wood of King, but a welcomed one of course.

By now, y'all should realize that we basically only travel back and forth from Waco to Kingwood.

I actually summed that up much shorter than I had anticipated, so consider yourselves lucky.

It's Tuesday. Do You Know Where Your Child Is?

Took Wy to the doctor this morning, because his fever came back again last night.
And of course, he awoke this morning with no fever. Why is it that once you take action, what you wanted in the first place finally happens?
Anywho, the doc said that his ears were very red, as was his throat. He was put on some antibiotics and should be wreaking havoc again in the next 48 hours.
For the first time, he didn't have to use the dadgum baby scale. They put him on the monstrous scale that the rest of us stand on, making him look like the tiniest person in the world. He weighed in at a whopping 25.7 ell-bees.
Funny; when I pick him up, I could swear he's at least 50 lbs.

We are at a point that we are virtually unable to take Wyatt anywhere because he just screams his head off when he doesn't get his way.
Yes.
I am that mother that ditches her husband and "random screaming child in the middle of Sam's" due to sheer embarrassment.
So, if you ask us to go to dinner - we probably ain't comin'. Unless YOU want to tell Wyatt to quit throwing his spaghetti from his high chair?

Amy Beth sent me an email the other day for some cool kid stuff they have for the summer, and one of the links led to the cutest helmets I've ever seen.

You can find more at nutcasehelmets.com

I wish I had a rockin' helmet like that growing up.

Okay! I know y'all were waiting for one. My funny Wyatt story.
It's quick, I swear.

I was sitting on the couch, procrastinating leaving for my final and all the sudden I hear Wy's girly scream. I jump up to find him sandwiched between the wall and the fridge. And I don't mean just like an arm/leg - I'm talking entire body, head and all. Completely.
Honestly, I have NO idea why he is so enamored with that white box.
I would have taken a picture to prove this to him later, but he was VERY upset and freaked out.

My last final is tomorrow - praise Jesus! So if I normally call you on a regular basis, but you don't hear from me for awhile - I'm sleeping. Don't bug me. I will eventually call you.

Happy Tuesday! Don't forget to watch Cougartown tomorrow.

Thank God For Mothers. And Tylenol.

Happy belated Mother's Day to all you wonderful women out there! I hope the day was perfect, and that things got done before you even had to ask. That was how Mollie taught us Mother's Day should be. Jon worked in Waco this weekend, so it was just me and Wy again. Wyatt had a fever since Friday, so it made for lots of meds and naps. We did have a great time just laying around, and watching Shrek. Jon got home around 5, and kicked me out of the living room "to get my surprise ready". When I was allowed back in, this is what I saw:
From my favorite flower, to my favorite candies! And yes, those are white chocolate covered strawberries. I am so blessed to have such a loving husband who is thoughtful at just the right times!!
If you are confused by the Red Bull, I was too. He informed me those were to study with. That will definitely come in handy.

Mom came to College Station on Friday to celebrate motherhood with us. We had the best time. Even though Wyatt was a little under the weather, we got to just relax and chat. We ordered in Fuzzy's for dinner (of course), since we weren't sure if Wy should be out amongst people. We also watched The Blind Side, which I LOVED. No wonder Sandra won an award because she kicked major tush in that movie.

Last Sunday we went to the Country Fair at one of the churches we have visited. We ate hot dogs, sno cones, corn dogs, and popcorn, danced to some music, and went to a petting zoo in which Wyatt was a little rough with some of the smaller animals
This picture must have been after I said his name 30 times.

But the BEST part was the bounce house. It was hilarious to see Wy in there.
I thought, maybe he is too young, but I was SO WRONG. He belly flopped, face planted, and danced around for 20 minutes. There was no getting him out of there.

Don't be fooled by the first pics - the apprehension is totally fake.

Is There a Sign For Go To Bed?

It is now officially May! I can't believe 2010 is going so quickly! I can still vividly remember what I was doing this time last year. Although, that's because the only thing I was doing was changing size 1 diapers. Those were the days.

Speaking of the little imp - Wyatt gets smarter each day. I am so proud! He now knows sign language for: more, all done, bread, and outside. But the cutest thing is, when he wants to go outside, he brings you his shoes and goes to the door to smack the door knob. Also, when he wants to go for a walk, he just climbs into his stroller and screams at you until you get up. That one is not quite as cute.

Wyatt has also become a fan of the show Handy Manny. Every morning he is in a terrible mood before we take him to school, so we give him some breakfast and turn on Manny, and he shuts right up. I say that lovingly, of course. I have tried to get him interested in Sesame Street (since it's a classic) but he just won't have it. But if you really want to see Wy in his best mood, turn on a music channel. That boy shakes his butt like he just don't care. I have tried to video tape it, but he is self-conscious about being on camera. I'll hide one or something.

Friday night, the Geigers, Cara, Diana, and Hunter went to Fuzzy's. They have the BEST tacos. Fish tacos to be exact.
But their other stuff is wonderful too.

See if there's one near you because it's totally worth it. Amen.

Then on Saturday, Cara and Uncle Ethan came over to play dominos. Wy went to bed at 9, but someone (ahem, JON) woke him up. When Wyatt realized how much fun we were having without him, he was ticked. Jon stooped low enough to use Wyatt to cheat. The aiding and abetting has already begun. He hung with the big dogs until about 1 when he passed out on the couch. I told Jon that he probably thinks we do that once he falls asleep every night, so he may not want to go to bed EVER.

Now that I've talked about it, I'm craving Fuzzy's. GO EAT IT.

Quack. Quack. Quack.

After picking Wyatt up from school yesterday, we went to the park to feed the ducks and enjoy this not-so-hot Springtime weather!

I have realized that I in fact have a small fear of ducks. They are unpredictable! One would follow us and seemed to be on crack. I don't really know what I was expecting since they are College Station ducks, and their main source of food is most likely beer. The last pic is of our favorite one, whom we dubbed Afroman.

Wyatt loves them, and it is so fun to see him interact with animals at this age. He is too fearless, and we had to continually make sure
that he didn't just dive right into the pond. Or, get attacked by a duck.

My favorite part was when Wy got tired of feeding them bread, and just ate it himself. As much as we tried, when we would give him more pieces to throw he just reared back...and dropped it in his mouth.

I have a short video of it, but try as I may, I cannot get blogspot to work with me here! I am going to keep trying so be looking for it, because you HAVE to see how close these stinkin' things get to you! I am getting freaked out right now just thinking about it.

Big Weekends Sneak Up On Me

I realized the other day, that it has been a very long time since I have been to the movies. This really has nothing to do with anything that's been going on in my life, but it is sad to me that I don't even have two hours to spare anymore!
Well, when I do, I like to use it forsleeping.

Now onto Geiger news.
Lately, I haven't been able to take or pick up Wy Guy from school, which truly bums me out (and yes, he's still mean). So when I do get to go, they always have interesting stories for me. We can all figure out that Wyatt is no napper, but I think he has officially gotten onto his school's schedule! For the past 6 months he has only napped 20 minutes but this past week he has slept the WHOLE TIME! 12:30 to 2:00 people...this is HUGE! But the funny part of it is, the teachers have a "Wyatt Nap Dance" that they do now to celebrate the fact that my son did what the other kids already do. I just laugh every time I think of 4 women dancing around and Wy clapping because he was quiet for an hour and a half. Lovely.

Wy and his daddy got to go antiquing with Bubba and Grandmommy this weekend, where they all got to witness a man buy a town. Yes, a town. $200,000 for Grove, TX. I was told that Bubba was itching to get in on the action. They also did what Jon calls his "good deed for the month" by helping a couple out of the mud while there. 2 hours round trip for 15 minutes of auctioning and mini-mudding.

We also visited a Cowboy Church and had a great time. Wyatt had the most fun, apparently, because he was entertaining everyone around him by running around and dancing to the music occasionally screaming for a blueberry during the sermon. Otherwise, he was just a peach.

Wyatt got some new shoes that LIGHT UP. Too cute, really. We put him in front of a mirror to check it out, and he just couldn't get enough of them. Bad idea on my part, because now he wants to run even more.

GET EXCITED Y'ALL. Because I took pics of Wyatt in the bluebonnets this year!
If only you could hear all of us yelling his name and dancing right now.
Seriously y'all. I'm not vain, but this kid is hot.
Oh Yay! We got a good one!
Jon with the 2 things he loves the most. 3, including the hat.
We got Uncle Z to play too.
Oh yes, I was there.

Some family friends' dog had puppies 3 weeks ago, and Wyatt got to meet them for the first time, and he thought they were the bee's knees. He was so careful to pet them, and kept trying to pick one up by the nape so we just put him in their box. Problem solved. I had a picture for this, but it was all iPhoney - which means grainy by the way - so I am going to have to bum one from Jon ASAP.

Dang. Thanks for reading all of that. I went a little nuts tonight. Love you all!

Some Turned 19 While Others Became 43

We had a VERY busy week, and it brought us cake...TWICE.
Wednesday was Kaitlyn's 19TH birthday. Not 18th (Aunt Denise) and not 20th (Mimi). Taylor and Kaitlyn came over for lasagna and it was delish. But the credit goes to Stoffer's this time.
Pay no attention to the horrible writing job on the cake. That crap is hard to use!
I realize I stole those pics from Taylor's facebook, but I needed to remind myself that Wyatt CAN be nice every now and again these days.
He has been very mean lately. I understand that mothers shouldn't say this...especially about their 1 year old. But oh my goodness, if that kid bites me or Jon one more time, I am going to lose it! I tried taking him to the park, and he screamed at me so loudly, that I had to put him in timeout twice.

Kaitlyn on occasion comes over to do her laundry since the dorms just positively suck. We got to watch Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs again, and it's even funnier the second time. I think it's one of my top 5 movies now.
YOU SHOULD AT LEAST SEE IT ONCE.

Saturday, I got to go play with my besties Cara and Diana. But I will leave that out for everyone else's sake.

On Sunday, my dad, his parents, and his sister came to Aggieland to celebrate my dad's birthday. We were going to eat at Longhorn Tavern but drove there only to find it CLOSED. Then we headed over to Sodolak's but it too, was CLOSED. We ended up at Roadhouse since I am pretty sure it's the only steakhouse open in B/CS on a stinkin' Sunday! When God rested on the 7th day, I bet he ate, you guys.

I will do better about posting more regularly, but I couldn't reach the computer since I ate so much birthday cake.

Next Stop...Baby Gap!

I am sure you recognize the sweet face in the center.
Wy's picture was used for census posters in the Waco area!
Everybody starts somewhere.

We Didn't Do Much.

I realize it's been a few days since I have written, but we had a fairly boring weekend so there wasn't too much to write about. Jon and some of his friends went to Chilifest on Saturday, so Wyatt and I ran some errands and played at the playground. That poor boy is going to enjoy shopping and Jon is not going to be happy about that.

Here's some quick cuteness:
This is the first time I have seen this happen.
I was doing a crossword, and looked down only when I realized his feet were no longer being kicked in the air.
How cute, right?

Caribbean Nights

This Wednesday brought me nothing special. Just some errands to be ran, a work out, a dinner to be cooked, and a study session. I made a darn good meal this evening...and it looked pretty. I made Caribbean Pork with Sweet Potatoes and Mango-Jicamo Sauce. Sounds fancy, right? It was definitely different and "adventurous" as Jon and I decided to say. I added a side of mac-n-cheese to the meal because it's a favorite at the Geiger house. Jon had seconds of everything, so I know I did a good job. That boy can eat though.
This was kind of a last hoorah to eating meat because Jon and I have to decided to go what I like to call "selective vegetarian" for a little while. Jon thinks it's girly because no man wouldn't eat beef, so he's really doing it because I asked him to. We are giving up red meat because of the articles that we have read about the stress hormones in cows. I don't know how long I will be able to last, because I love me some heffer.

Wyatt's allergies are acting up so if anyone has a good idea how to get that under control, I would greatly appreciate it!

Pop sent me pics of Abby's lacrosse game the other day, and I must say she looks like quite a stud!
I need to come to one of your games soon Abby Noel!

There Went Peter Cottontail...

Happy Belated Easter!

The Geiger clan headed to China Spring this year to enjoy the weekend. We headed up there Thursday night, and I was very happy to not have class Friday OR Saturday! On Friday, we got to visit with Jon's "other family", who the oldest daughter was induced to have her first child that day! After holding him for a few moments I had to give him back because I could feel baby fever consuming me! Only enough love for my Wyatt right now, athankyou. That night, Jon, Gage, Zac, and myself went to the Wade Bowen concert in downtown Waco and had a pretty good time! There are definitely some weirdos there (for example, a man in an orange pimp suit with stilts and half a mustache). Needless to say, it was fun for all ages.

Saturday, we were able to witness Wyatt's first Easter egg hunt! Sadly, I think I may have to get excited about next year because he just wasn't getting it. He received bubbles in his Easter basket and that was ALL he cared about. We did get some cute pics though - just not near as many as I had hoped, but to be honest people...he was boring. When he would pick up an egg, he immediately opened it, and poured out all of the candy into the basket. I would try to take the egg and get him to "find" another but he would scream bloody murder because I was taking his beloved egg. We'll work on it. Wy and his new friend Jeremy, played with the bubbles for hours. It was truly priceless, and I haven't seen him laugh that hard in a long time!
Sunday, Jon, Wyatt, Hope, Brandi, Tricia, Zac, and I went to church and then headed to Grandma Dvorsky's for some homecooking! We had a great time, but it was a VERY tiring weekend! It is times like these that I am thankful for no Monday classes - great scheduling on my part.
